5e Dungeons & Dragons Adventures

These are short adventures designed to be completed in a single session… but occasionally require a second one. The duration shown is for a group of characters of the listed number and level. Players who are new to the game or trying a class for the first time should opt for a game meant for low level characters to avoid the complications that higher-level characters bring.

To Track a Thief (4-5 players, level 1, 3-4 hours)

The community board outside a local watchhouse has a posting offering 50 gp for information leading to the capture of the thief responsible for a spate of burglaries and robberies.

The Forsaken Fort (4-5 players, level 3, 3-4 hours)

The fort near the small village of Riverview has gone silent - no messengers and no smoke from campfires. Since you're traveling that direction anyway, the mayor of Riverview asks your party to stop by and check on them.

The Twisted Wreath (4-5 players, level 3, 3-5 hours)

A burst of necrotic energy recently erupted from the Twisted Wreath, a maze of knotted and thorny vines that lurks deep within a tangled forest far from any major city. The local circle of druids sent one of their members to investigate but they did not return. The druids desperately want to know what happened.

Blizzard Pass (4-6 players, level 3, 4-6 hours)

You thought traveling with a caravan would keep you safe. You thought wrong. While you were lost in a sudden blizzard, the caravan was attacked and all were slain. The tracks of the enemy lead up the mountain. Vengeance has certainly been earned, but is there more going on?

Tragedy and Thyrdun Outpost (4-5 players, level 4, 3-5 hours)

The dwarven mining colony was wiped out in a tragic accident years ago. Recently, the dwarves sent an expedition to reopen the mine but it seems that it, too, has failed. They want to know what’s going on and are willing to pay.

Nest of the Eldritch Eye (4-5 players, level 4, 3-5 hours)

Your group has been assigned to patrol an area of the city containing dozens of small shops, inns, and taverns. What is typically a boring day (and an easy source of coin) is interrupted by the discovery of murdered man and hints of a sinister cult beneath the very streets you are tasked with keeping safe.

Shrine of the Hungry Dead (4-5 players, level 4, 4-5 hours)

People in and around the harbor have begun disappearing. Fishers, sailors, trysting couples, and others have gone missing. The cause of these abductions must be found and dealt with before fear paralyzes the city.

Scions of Elemental Evil (4-6 players, level 4, 3-6 hours)

Beneath the Temple of Elemental Evil lies a labyrinth of tombs and ritual chambers. For years these dungeons have lain in ruin but now the forsaken souls return, raising an army of evil to destroy the world.

Caverns of the Crystalline Monolith (4-5 players, level 5, 4-5 hours)

Your employer seeks esoteric knowledge from a rare being known as the crystalline monolith. You’ve been given the location of the monolith and must find a way to retrieve the creature’s knowledge, either through coercion, persuasion, or other means.

Fight for Horseshoe Rock Oasis (4-5 players, level 5, 3-5 hours)

You have been traversing the desert for over a week with no end in sight and your water supplies are dangerously low. Finally, in the distance you see green. Green means vegetation. Vegetation means water. Water means survival. Surely, the current inhabitants won't mind sharing with you. If they do... well, you'll worry about that out once you get there.

The Last Gasp (4-6 players, level 6, 4-6 hours)

The lost tomb of Menet-Ka has been found and you’ve been hired to provide protection while the site is explored. If the 25 platinum each wasn’t enough to get you to join the expedition, an equal share of the treasures certainly was. All you need to do is return safely.

Towers of the Three Regents (4-5 players, level 15, 5-6 hours)

There are rumors that the fey have returned to the towers seeking a powerful relic that was left behind. But the rivalry among the fey has not subsided and you are contacted by agents of another faction to explore the towers and retrieve the item. Only one side can claim it... who will it be?

And many, many more.
